Get to know about Youth Development Association

Youth Development Association (YDA) is a not-for-profit, voluntary organization, registered with the government of Pakistan under the “Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Registration & control Ordinance 1961” It was registered on September 12, 2009. YDA is governed by the Board of Directors, who is playing a vital role in various directions such as organizational leadership and management, strategic direction and outreach relationship with national and international bodies. YDA is working for the marginalized and underprivileged communities of Islamabad and plans to expand its operations in other areas of the country, for social and economic development/uplift with special focus on youth. YDA depends on the support and collaboration of different partners - national and international organizations -for the struggle to fulfill its vision.

Our Mission

We are committed to harness capacities of the most vulnerable segments especially youth through provision of a conducive environment, stimulating their striving for a level of excellence thus enabling them to take ownership of their actions, to make them responsible citizens of the society.

Target Community

YDA believes in working with poor and marginalized communities without any discrimination of religion or caste. YDA believes that it is right of the marginalized segments to be taken care of in such a way that their human dignity is maintained and they never feel to at receiving end but partners in development process. At present YDA with its limited resources is working with people living in slums i.e. children, women, youth and out of school children (domestic workers, youth living in slums, persons with disabilities, illiterate and jobless women).

Our Impact

The impact of our activities is manifold in the lives of the beneficiaries. The powerless are empowered. The insecure segments are protected through appropriate interventions.
The children under threat of harassment, malnutrition and illiteracy are provided safe environment for education and personal growth. The young girls who are domestic workers, or baby sitters are engaged in skill training and business management training to get better jobs, initiate their own business and it has enabled women to be nimble partners in development.
The youth is trained in Human rights, minorities’ rights, spiritual growth and skill trainings. They are inspired, equipped and empowered beings to be resilient youth and agent of change.
Victims of different human induced and natural disasters are also catered through provision of adequate emergency relief package.
YDA also focusing Climate change adaptations and plans are underway to execute such interventions which address organic farming, climate change and uplift of small farmers.

YDA & SDGs

SDGs are a road map for the development actors aiming at betterment of life on earth, save earth and facilitate human beings in different sectors. Even being a small organization, so far YDA activities have complimented following SDGs.
