Be Aware, Be Ready, Be Prepared

Due to certain climatic factors Pakistan is among top ten countries of the world being affected by climate change which result in different natural disasters. Apart from natural disaster, due to certain socio-political and global factors, it is equally vulnerable to man-made disasters as well. Under this thematic area, YDA, responds to different emergency situations. YDA has been providing emergency relief by collecting goods and food from the locals and distributing to the effected.

Keeping in view the economic situation of the vulnerable Christians, YDA provided food hampers to 505 vulnerable families (1662 Individuals) in slum areas of Islamabad, Lahore and Faisalabad. The main objective of the project was to save vulnerable children, women, elderly and PWDs from starvation and death or fall prey to Covid due to weaker immune system. Covid 19 Emergency Relief – Humanitarian Assistance to Afghan Refugee Families was done on May 15, 2022. It was done in the Lalma Camp, Akhora Khattak, Noshehra. Other then food items and keeping in view the cold weather YDA also provided winterization set to the same 100 families reaching out to 700 indviduals.

 

Under Flood Emergency Response 2022, district Khuzdar (most devastated district of Balochistan) was selected. The distribution of the relief items were done on September 17 and 19, 2022. In this distributions, residents of villages Gresha, Moola, Karakh, Ballu and Babli of district Khuzdar were facilitated. Total 350 families (2450 Individuals) were catered through provision of relief package consisting food, hygiene and kitchen kits.
