Investing in young women’s economic empowerment and skills development is one of the most urgent and effective means to drive progress on gender equality, poverty eradication, and inclusive economic growth. To increase access to decent employment and entrepreneurial opportunities YDA has provided vocational training to young women of Rimsha Colony, H-9/2, and Islamabad.

A 15- Days Beautician Course was organized for the women of Rimsha Colony, H-9, Islamabad. This training was started on June 27, 2022 and ended on July 18, 2022. A professional Beautician Ms. Alishba Waseem was hired as a resource person for this training who belongs to TV media. This course led the participant to learn the key techniques for creating impeccable makeup styles and finding out what a career as a makeup artist involve. This course was the ideal first step towards a carrier in the makeup industry or for the women to learn the basics of makeup application. During the training demonstration were followed by the practice for the fellow participants.

The main objective of the Makeup course was to empower young girls and women by providing necessary skills to be a qualified beautician which ultimately helped them to stand on their own feet. A total no of 19 participants participated in the training. All the young women belong to the slum community of Rimsha Colony, H-9, Islamabad. The participants were very happy to attend the training as it enhanced their knowledge and skills to start their business as a beautician.
