Positive youth development programs strengthen young people’s sense of identity, belief in the future, self-regulation, and self-efficacy as well as their social, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral competence. YDA envisions Patriotic, drug free productive Youth and currently focuses on youth living in urban slums of Islamabad.
Focusing this YDA launched a project on Human Rights Education for Youth. Under this project, YDA provided the opportunity to youth (Age 18-29 Years) of five different Christian communities in federal area of Pakistan to get awareness on human rights education and constitutional rights. The main objective of the Human Rights
Education Campaign for Youth was to empower young women and men to critically analyze the human rights problems in their community and seek out solutions that are consistent with human rights values and standards (with reference to the constitution of Pakistan). Two major core areas were targeted to fulfill the objectives which are as follows;
Core Area 1: “Human Rights Education”: to develop the knowledge, skills, and values of human rights, its violation and remedies.
Core Area 2: “National and International Legal Frame”: with the constitution protection and basic information about Human Right treaties.

The overall feedback of the sessions was that these sessions were well prepared and well delivered. There was sufficient knowledge for youth about human rights education and human right declaration in aligned with articles of Pakistani Constitution. Youth got to understand the articles with concrete examples given by the resource person
