Christmas is one of the most cherished feasts globally when we celebrate the birth of Christ and spend time with family and loved ones. We’re celebrating God’s generous gift that Christ brought joy and hope to humanity and we can bring that hope, Joy and Peace to others.

CAPC received wish letters from the young children in slum of Pakistan wishing to be remembered with some gifts as we prepare for Christmas here. We are pleased that with the support of our wonderful well-wishers and a collaboration of Youth Development Association (YDA) our local partner, the Christmas Program was organized on Tuesday, 20th December 2022 at Awami Church, Rimsha Colony a slum in Islamabad. Around 300 children and adults of the slum participated in the program. CAPC was able to share the joy of Christmas and give smile boxes to 100 children consisting chocolates, candies, juices, cupcakes and mittens, caps and socks for warmth in cold and candies and juices to another 150 street children who attended the program. Volunteers and local team were also appreciated with token of love followed by Christmas cake cutting. The cake was shared with all the participants.

Children presented a Christmas play telling the story of Jesus’s birth, performed tableaus, sang carols and danced. What an overwhelming joy to see them enact the play, cheer the birth of our savior and feel pride in their faith. Dancing to jingle bells in the midst of poverty and being neglected and singing of silent night created Hope, the compassion shown to them strengthened the bond of sister and brotherhood in Christ seven seas apart. The parents and children thanked God for his provision and prayed and expressed heartiest appreciation to all who become part of it and made it happen. Now the children stay warm wearing their caps, mitts and socks and we at CAPC feel very happy about it.
